Only thing I've ever really been good at is drawing and that has taken me a very long way. I was born into a family that can all draw but also competitive with each other. So the competitiveness is what pushed me to become a better drawer than my brother and sister. I want to use my skills to create modern furniture. I always loved the way modern furniture looks, it is simple and looks nice. If I ever do get to create and design furniture, I want to run the business, I want to be the head of the company.
My inspiration has always been my brothers, no matter how competitive we are towards each other, we all have different skills and different mind sets, and my brothers all had created something unique and different from just regular drawings, and that is what drives me to become a better artist, so I can someday compare my work with theirs and show that I'm the best in my family. Like I said before, my strongest skill in art is drawing, and that is why a pencil and paper are my favorite tools to use. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember but I'll be honest, I had no idea how to shade until my freshmen year. Freshmen year was the year I really started to step out of my comfort zone and began to paint, use water color, pastel and discover different ways and styles of drawing. Before I start a piece, I have to draw it out, not just a quick drawing, it has to have detail work, its basically the final product. My favorite theme is high contrast and basic pencil shading. It is simple and looks good.
My work isn't much about my personal life, it is an idea that can't be explained words but with art. So whenever someone ask me what my work is showing, all I say is that I create for entertainment. I let people look at my work and let them name the piece, and create their own story behind the art work. As of now I really want to get more into water color, its so simple, but still hard to master and get it just right, the way one use the brush and having to use just the right amount of water to get the perfect shade. Plus there is so much one can do with just water color. I also want to get better at free drawing, and more realistic drawings. I feel like my drawings are too cartoon like or anime like. My works are probably not made for selling but at the end of the day I feel proud about my pieces.
